Lisa Doezema { Client Service Associate }
In April 2008, I joined team CapTrust. I appreciate that everyone here is helpful towards one another and genuinely kind. I have never met a bunch quite like those here at CapTrust. It is interesting how life is, as I am an artist and working at a financial consulting practice. I deeply enjoy my work here and feel blessed to be at CapTrust. My role here is to welcome you…I’m usually the first voice you hear on the phone or the first face to greet you at the office. I also keep busy with the day to day details that help the rest of the team serve you better.
I was born and raised in Owosso and Grand Blanc, Michigan. I raised my children in East Grand Rapids before moving to Holland. I recently bought a home on the south side of town. I enjoy the small town feeling that Holland offers. I have a teenage son named Chris and a daughter Megan who is married and lives only a block away from me. Our family is one that enjoys reading, painting, gardening, music and creating art in many different mediums. Something about me that not many people know is that my 8th cousin is Abraham Lincoln and that my dad ran for Governor of Michigan in the 80’s.
When I am not here at Cap Trust I spend hours painting in my art studio, where I have everything to create right at my fingertips.
I am involved in a non-profit group called Barnabas Charities, Inc. Our mission is to take on projects to help children in South Africa who are in survival mode, and elevate them into thriving mode. The projects are all unique and I am looking forward to my next trip to South Africa.
Oh! one more thing…I recently became engaged to a wonderful man named Martin Schulist, and we are excited to be getting married June 2011.
